– The evening cocktail trend continues! A couple of weeks ago it was mojitos, then grapefruit ginger spritzers, then back to watermelon mojitos, and now we’re onto margaritas. I made a couple with fresh-squeezed orange juice the other night, walked away to grab some lime slices for garnish, only to find one margarita, one glass of ice, and Aaron with a guilty look on his face when I turned back around. Several minutes later I thought he was re-hydrating with a glass of water…turns out it was more tequila. This is why tequila is so dangerous. This is also why we buy Jose Cuervo and not Don Julio.
– I’ve been really into re-using glass jars as drinking glasses recently. We go though an awful lot of almond butter and other condiments and it just seems like such a shame to get rid of them. Also, I break no less than one glass every two weeks. I drop them on the floor, smash them into one another unloading the dishwasher, and the other day, one randomly cracked in my hand. Must be all that BodyPump.
– I like my mismatched, recycled glass jars, but I cannot for the life of me get the labels off of them. Yesterday, Aaron thought I was drinking pickle juice. It was homemade kombucha…I suppose that’s close enough.
I put a bunch of the jars in the dishwasher, set it to the highest heat setting, and then opened it later only to find pieces of almond butter labels all over my actual glassware. I apologize in advance if you come over and your margarita has pieces of paper in it. Although, if you’re anything like Aaron, your margarita will be gone too fast to notice and you’ll be too buzzed to care. Also, feel free to just smash your glass on the floor when you’re done. I have an old almond butter jar to take its place.
