Mondays come way too fast. I don’t know about you, but I could use another couple of days off, a break from emails and my never-ending to-do list.
I can’t give myself an extra Saturday (wouldn’t that be an amazing superpower?). But I can make a conscious effort to slow down, take a few deep breaths, and ease into my busy workweek.
And you know what helps me do that?
After a few days of being nameless, my parents finally decided on “Bo”, after tap dancer Bojangles.
Yeah, the significance of that name was completely lost on me, much to my parents’ disappointment. My dad promptly sent me the wikipedia article, while my mom broke into song and dance to clear things up. Thanks, mom.
Bo is going through a bit of a teething phase, or at least we hope it’s a phase. Cats teethe, right? But when he’s not giving “love bites”, he likes to play with the puggles‘ toys (it’s very confusing for them).
Or just take a quick catnap in the palm of your hand.
He’s quite literally a handful, but it’s also impossible to feel stressed out when you’re holding a kitten.
I’m thinking about carrying him around everywhere.
…
So, how do you manage stress during busy workweeks? Do you like cats, or are you more of a dog person? If you have a cat/dog, do you find that they help you relax?
I pretty much don’t discriminate when it comes to animals, but I’m more of a dog person. I think of Honey as more of a furry child than a dog – she has so much personality and is so communicative with people. I’ve had some very nice cats over the years, but none that compare to Honey. She is most definitely a daily source of happiness for me.
