Stop to Smell the Roses

Yesterday was the perfect end to a long weekend. Sunny skies, temperatures in the mid-70s, and people out enjoying a day off. I was especially grateful for the low humidity too, after a week of frizzy hair and feeling like I was living in a steam room.

One of my favorite things about where I live is the abundance of green space. It’s still urban (and about 5 minutes outside the Boston line), but there are parks tucked in every few blocks, lots of trees, and  flowers lining nearly every street. I am also fortunate to live a block away from a large park, with an open field, a playground, and a public rose garden. I walk by the park at least twice a day, but I rarely stop to just take it all in.

Yesterday, Aaron and I finally set aside some time to walk around the park, where we took notes from all of the little kids buzzing around the playground, and we ran around the rose garden, taking photos and proclaiming every rose to be our favorite. Here are some of the ones that stood out to me…
