I cannot even tell you how excited I am for warmer weather. It actually started to feel like Spring this week with somewhat regular sunshine, more mild temps (and by that I mean high 40s), longer daylight hours…and then I checked the forecast and saw several instances of possible snow showers?!?!?!?! I think this is payback for last year’s unusually warm winter, which was a peace offering after the previous year’s snowmageddon. So maybe next winter will be warm(ish)?
In my mind, I’m already jumping ahead to summer and attempting to plan a much-needed vacation. I realized that it’s been almost two years since Aaron and I took more than a weekend away and that’s simply unacceptable. It’s not easy to take time off when we’re both self-employed and Aaron’s in the beginning stages of his business, but I’m fortunate in that I can work from anywhere as long as I have a decent internet connection. We’re thinking about renting a summer house at our favorite getaway spot for a full month if we can swing it, with the plan being to spend long weekends and as many other days as possible at the beach. Ideally, the puggles would also get a big, fenced-in yard to run around and eat weird stuff (their favorite).
Speaking of puggles, I discovered this week that Barley goes nuts when he hears the hissing sound from the heaters. So, of course, I chase him around the apartment like a crazy person making that sound and he runs full-sprint up and down the hallway and in and out of rooms. It’s like a tag/hide-and-seek hybrid game and Barley’s reaction is similar to his post-bath freak-out, but somehow even more hilarious.
…and this is what happens when you work from home. At least I’ve recently swapped out my yoga pants for jeans…most days.
