Thursday Thoughts

– I love having fresh flowers throughout my apartment. They’re an instant mood booster, but I will hang onto them until they’re a good week past their prime. We’re talking brown, petal-less, and slightly stinky. I want to make sure I get my money’s worth. Also, I might have problems with letting go.

– The Biggest Loser just isn’t the same without Jillian Michaels.  I miss hearing her encourage contestants by screaming things like “I AM GOING TO MURDER YOU!” and “I WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE!”. If that’s not motivation, I don’t know what is.

– My dog, Honey, likes to make uncomfortably long eye contact. This is fine when it’s people we know, but makes for some awkward walks around our neighborhood when strangers pass us. Have you ever had a 25 pound puggle stare you down on your way home from work? Creepy.

– I typically take two showers a day. A shorter one in the morning for the sake of cleanliness, and a longer one at night for the sake of my sanity. It’s bad for the environment, but good for my soul.

– Since starting this blog, I now find myself composing posts in my head That long shower is prime composing time. All bloggers do this…right?

– My husband and I had baked tofu for dinner last night (marinated in a little Braggs, agave, and garlic). This is the conversation that followed:

Me: I kind of want more tofu.
Aaron: Half a block wasn’t enough for you?
Me: I guess not.
Aaron: Yeah, it’s kind of like candy.
Me: What did you just say?! Did you just compare tofu to candy?

I need to get this man a bag of candy. Apparently, we both need to lay off the tofu.

So what are your Thursday thoughts?

  1. Well.. now I’m wishing I had some tofu marinating in the fridge.

I’m so glad I happened across your blog! The name is too cute! Love it!

Thanks, Lauren! The tofu definitely wasn’t like candy, but it was pretty awesome nonetheless. The combo of salty + sweet from the braggs and agave is great. And I personally think garlic just makes most savory dishes better. 🙂

Just checked out your blog and saw you have a recipe for pickle and pb cupcakes?!?! I’m intrigued!

I completely agree- The Biggest Loser just is not The Biggest Loser without Jillian. But, Bob teaches spin classes at my gym, so I still have to watch the show for him!
And the conversation with your husband made me laugh out loud. I’m the same way! Tofu is addicting.

    1. Amanda says

That’s so cool that Bob teaches at your gym! Have you ever taken one of his classes? I actually think if given the opportunity, I’d prefer to train with him over Jillian. Although, I feel like he’s gotten more Jillian-like and a lot tougher on people over the years. Either way, I’d get my butt kicked. 🙂

  3. My dog does the same exact thing! Once a lady even asked me why was my dog staring at her! she was scared 😀
I’m often thinking in what I call “blog mode”: and if I think of something good I usually write it down, otherwise I’ll forget it!

    1. Amanda says

Yeah, it’s almost embarrassing when Honey stares at people. I’ll often try to distract her so she’ll stop, but she’s determined to say “hi” to everyone, in her own weird way. 🙂

I need to start writing down my blog post ideas. Thanks for the reminder!

I overrate tofu once, a whole block by myself.
Then I suffered terrible stomach cramps. Felt like I had the Taz devil in my tummy!
I’d much rather eat 5 packets of Sweet Tarts!

    1. Amanda says

haha I can eat about half a block of tofu, but like you, a whole block would definitely do a number on my stomach!
