I had every intention of posting a new and cozy recipe today. It was going to be a little something to help us get through the winter blues, perpetually cold hands and feet, and that angsty feeling that tends to creep in after several months without warm sunshine (wait, why do I live here?). And then I got the flu or something equally awful. I thought I could rally, but Amazon delayed my order for a key recipe component, and so I think I should take this as a sign that I should not be forcing my sore throat, congested, achy self into the kitchen. February is the worst.
But it is Valentine’s Day tomorrow and I’ll take any excuse to celebrate my sweet tooth. Oh, and love too. Sometimes I forget it’s not only about chocolate and candy.
These are my top Valentine’s Day-appropriate recipes from the past 365 days. Some desserts, some breakfasts, but really – it’s Valentine’s Day. Have a cupcake for breakfast if that’s what you’re feeling.
Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Vanilla Maple Almond Butter Cups
(One of my all-time favorite recipes.)
Anti-Inflammatory Blueberry Smoothie
(Because life is about balance. That and saving room for dessert.)
Gingerbread Buckwheat Pancakes
Vanilla-Glazed Lemon Banana Walnut Muffins
(It’s never too cold for ice cream.)
(Who says eggnog spices can’t be enjoyed in February?)
Sweet & Simple Marzipan Truffles
That’s nine recipes, so just to even things out, here’s an oldie but a goodie:
How will you be treating your valentine and yourself?
…I’ll be enjoying medicated cough drops. I can’t wait!
